The top-ranked sport in the United States is now faster than the world’s fastest car, according to new data.
A report from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) found the 2016 Subaru WRX STI had a top speed of 217.25 mph (300 km/h), which is a 0.1-mph (0.8-km/h) increase over the previous WRX and WRX Limited.
The WRX is also the fastest sedan in the U.S. with a top Speedometer reading of 227.4 mph (330 km/a).
The new WRX has a top gear rating of 6, which is also a 0-mph increase over previous WRx.
The previous WR x was rated at 6, while the 2016 WRX, Limited and the all-new WRX are rated at 5, 7, 8 and 9.
The top-speed of the new WR X is now 2.2 seconds faster than previous models, according the IIHS.
The 2017 Subaru WRx is also 2.4 seconds faster, while earlier models were rated at 1.6 seconds faster.
The new Subaru WR X, Limited, and all-in-one WRX model are available now for purchase in the Newberry Subaru online dealership.
The 2018 Subaru WR models will be released in 2019.

Accu is the abbreviation for AccuHonda, which means “all-inclusive,” in Japanese.
The Accu award is given to companies that create innovative products that are used to achieve high customer satisfaction scores.
The award is made up of four categories: Excellence, Innovation, Technology and Quality.
The 2017 Subaru Crosstree and WR x were awarded Excellence.
The 2018 WR X and the 2017 Crosstreks were both nominated for Innovation.
The awards are not the only accolades that the brand is receiving, however.
The automaker has received the 2019 National Motorist of the Year Award from the American Automobile Association (AAMA), the 2018 New American Vehicle of the Week Award from The Automotive News (TAN), and the 2018 Subaru Brand Award from Consumer Reports (CR).
In recognition of its accomplishments, the 2018 WRX was awarded the 2019 New American Motorist Award by the AAMA.
